End-of-the-Airplane Party
We must have one. I owe Alyson a cake. I would like for as many people as possible to be there, especially Donny, so would you let me know when would be a really great and/or a really horrible time?

On online vs. print working papers
Hi all,
Dear PWPL 14.1 author,
The U. Penn Working Papers in Linguistics Volume 14.1, Proceedings of the 31st Annual Penn Linguistics Colloquium, was published in print in February, and this week it went online. It is the second volume of PWPL to be published online, with free access.
We found that with volume 13.2, the first volume to go online, several of the articles had already received more visibility in just four months than many of our older articles published only in print ever had.
The volume can be browsed online, and hard-copy ordering instructions (including author discounts) can be found, at our website:

Regards,
PWPL
I know we've decided to go for print, but here's a message form the UPenn people - they've been doing it for nearly 15 years, and check out what they say:

Proposition 1.A.1 - Mo' Money
I make the motion that we address and vote on proposition 1.A.1 concerning an increase in membership dues.
I was thinking the other day that we might want to think about increasing registration fees. Perhaps charge $10 per semester instead of per year. This way we double our funding without the shock-value of just asking for $20 for membership.
An increase in funds would serve a dual purpose of bringing in more money right before the symposium (which we'll need if we are going to expand) as well as providing extra money to pay for both issues of the PLA-WP.
Can we get a vote going on this?

Working Papers
Please write any suggestions wrt the Purdue Linguistics Association Working Papers here.
Let me clarify one thing: I am really happy with the first issue. I really thank Alyson for her great efforts in editing that issue. I will be so happy if she edits the second issue as well.

Nominations & Elections
The deadline for the nominations is about next week Friday (4/11). I am hoping
that we get the individual reports by then. The elections will be done by Monday
(4/21). The new officers can take action from May 1 on.
Both nominations and elections will be online as we did last year.
