Depending on who(m) you ask, either September is Hispanic Heritage month, or it starts September 15 and goes through October 15. Anyway, there is an open house at the Latino Cultural Center on Friday the 14th from 4:00-6:00 pm; you can meet France Córdova and get free churros. (And Ricard, if you think my pronunciation of queso is bad, you sooo do not want to hear me say churros. . . .) So would anyone else want to go?
And while I am thinking about delectable cinnamon-coated Mexican delights, and remembering the remnants of a yummy Argie-quiche that are still waiting on my kitchen table, I have another crazy idea: would anybody be interested in a PLA cookbook? You could all give me your favourite recipes and I could do the work of compiling, and then we would have the most ethnically diverse awesome volume of tastihood there ever was. And we could even call it Big Mac if we wanted to.

Me, me, pick me! I lo-o-ove the cookbook idea (mainly bc I'd like to get my hands and teeth on that yummy dessert you made).
I'll be out for the 14th though - off to sunny CA, closest I can get to Latin in the US (apart from FL and the south of Lafayette, that is).
-- oops, looks like you can delete comments by clicking on the bin and then agreeing to delete it. Well there it goes again.
what kind of stuff do you want? favorite recipes? seasonal ones?... I doubt the family recipe for christmas pudding would go over well... it's an 'acquired taste' :)
Any recipes of any type. It would be nice if people could also say where (geographically) the recipe is from, being as specific as you want (in case it's from a region that happens to be smaller than a "country," and by that I also mean particular U.S. states or whatever). If you have any great stories that go with your recipe, you can also include those.
